The GAA Vetting Policy can be viewed on the official GAA website
here. This also includes guidance on how to use your
Foireann account.
How to Apply for Garda Vetting Please note that
Garda Vetting procedures were updated in August 2025.
Before applying for Garda Vetting, it is now
mandatory to meet
in person with a Tulla GAA Children’s Officer. At this meeting, applicants must bring
original identification and proof of address documents so that ID validation can be completed. The Children’s Officer will also assist with completing the Garda Vetting application at this time.
To arrange an appointment with a Children’s Officer, please contact the club directly via the usual club communication channels or email childrensofficer.tulla.clare@gaa.ie .
Garda Vetting Renewal Garda Vetting Certificates are valid for
three years. Approximately
three months before expiry, the certificate holder will receive an automatic email notification advising that renewal is required.
If you continue to carry out any of the roles listed above, you must apply for a
new Garda Vetting Certificate as soon as possible. The renewal process is the same as applying for Garda Vetting for the first time.
